SAUTEURS PORT PROJECT ON STREAM

ST.GEORGE'S,GRENADA, JUNE 26, 2014 -GIS:Minister of Implementation Senator Kenny Lalsingh  has assured the people of St. Patrick and Grenada that the much talked about multi-million dollar Port Project in Sauteurs is very much on stream.

He says that the drawings have already been completed and that finance is being secured for the project, which will be a big economic boost for St. Patrick and the country in general.

His comments came as he spoke at the St. Patrick West Constituency Forum in Sauteurs.

“We are working on the Port project for Sauteurs. Only today I was speaking to the developers and questioning them about what is happening. They have completed the drawings and are working on securing the funding” a confident and optimistic Senator Lalsingh disclosed.

He said that the government is eagerly looking forward to the launch of the Sauteurs Port Project and assured the nation that they are working to make it a reality.

“I want to say that we are working on it because we know full well that this project means a lot not just to St. Patrick; but to Grenada”.

Sen. Lalsingh is heartened by the strides made by the country over the last 16 months. He said that the economy is growing and things are improving.

“We have seen that after one year, the country has made some improvements. We have seen the economy growing at a slow pace; so everybody may not see it at the same time; but the economy is growing; things are improving”, the minister of implementation said.

He is confident that the Home Grown Program of Structural Adjustment and Fiscal Reform will be fruitful; bringing much needed economic growth and development.

“We have taken the very bold and honest decision that we will develop a Home Grown Program; and that program is for us to collect more revenue and for us to cut unnecessary expenditures; and this is very important for the development of Grenada”,
