Leader of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Tillman Thomas, has accepted Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell's invitation for a meeting to discuss Grenada's debt restructuring program.

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, Monday, October 21, 2013 - GIS: Leader of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Tillman Thomas, has accepted Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell's invitation for a meeting to discuss Grenada's debt restructuring program.
 
Former Prime Minister Thomas indicated his willingness to discuss the debt situation in a letter received late Monday morning (October 21).
 
The exact date for the meeting is to be decided by both parties, and will be part of the ongoing series of discussions on the proposed measures for the debt restructuring program.
 
The next meeting scheduled to discuss the debt restructuring takes place on Tuesday, October 22, when Prime Minister Mitchell meets with former MP Mrs. Glynis Roberts, the leader of the National United Front.
 
The government has been meeting with different national stakeholders on critical economic matters in respect of discussions on debt restructuring that government has been having with the IMF and other multilateral and developmental organizations.
 
The Government considers the leadership of the opposition parties, the unions, churches, NGO's, private sector, as critical components of the national decision making process, especially in the absence of an official opposition.
