ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA January 26, 2016- GIS: The build-up to Grenada’s 42nd anniversary of Independence is very much on with the country being readied for the big occasion on February 7th.
Buntings, banners, flags and other decorations of the national colours have been attractively placed on buildings around the country.
The celebrations are being expanded this year with the first ever 10K walk on Sunday January 24th in all parishes.
“They say your health is your wealth and exercise is very good and the walk is extremely good,” said culture minister Senator Brenda Hood.
The senator says an Environmental and Beautification Campaign is also being held for the first time.
“As you can see, they have started decorating the constituencies and this year for the first time we have a national environmental and beautification campaign,” the culture minister said.
