Waste to Energy Conference forms part of Independence Celebrations 2016

ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA January 12, 2016- GIS: A conference demonstrating the benefits of turning waste into energy will be a major highlight of Grenada’s 42nd  anniversary of Independence.

The Waste to Energy Conference and Exposition, running from January 20  to 23 at the Grenada Trade Centre, will attract different organizations from the Region and abroad, and their demonstrations will place some emphasis on Agriculture.

“We have approximately ten booths from the US with different types of procedures for turning waste into energy and so we want people in Grenada to come out,” said Ann Marie Marryshow, Chairperson of the National Celebrations Committee.

The celebrations will also focus on Economic development, with the Made in Grenada Expo on Independence Day and the Buy Local Week from February 1.

The Chairperson says the overall Independence celebration will embrace visitors to the island.

“It is a product for marketing and it will continue to be a product and so it will include Grenadians and visitors alike, so you can come every year like they come for carnival.”
