The T.A. Marryshow Community College wishes to announce that it has received the 2016 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) preliminary results from the Caribbean Examinations Council. In this regard, officials at the College are currently reviewing and analysing the performances of the candidates who sat the Examinations in May/June 2016. It is to be noted that in 2016 there was an overall pass rate of 83.38 % while there was an overall pass rate of 83.72% in 2015.
The CAPE 2016 Unit 1 percentage pass is 79.32 percent as compared to 79.41 percent in 2015. The 2016 Unit 1 CAPE Examination results have revealed that a total of thirty four (34) Grade One’s were achieved in nine (9) subject areas compared to fifty three (53) Grade One’s in nine (9) subject areas in 2015. A Grade One denotes excellent performance by students. Grade One’s were obtained in the Unit 1 2016 CAPE Examinations in Biology (1), Chemistry (2), Communication Studies (10), Economics (1), Environmental Science (2), Law (2), Management of Business (1), Physics (4) and Pure Mathematics (11).
The best subject performances in the 2016 Unit 1 CAPE Examinations were recorded in Applied Mathematics (100 % pass), Art & Design (100 % pass), Literatures in English (96.88 % pass), Geography (94.44 % pass) and Communication Studies (93.94 % pass).
The CAPE 2016 Unit 2 percentage pass is 89.42 percent as compared to 89.38 percent in 2015. The 2016 Unit 2 CAPE Examination results have shown that a forty five (45) Grade One’s were achieved in nine(9) subject areas compared to fifty eight (58) Grade One’s in eleven (11) subject areas in 2015. Grade One’s in 2016 Unit 2 CAPE Examinations were obtained in Accounting (3), Biology (10), Caribbean Studies (4), Chemistry (1), Environmental Science (1), Law (3), Management of Business (1), Physics (6) and Pure Mathematics (16).
One hundred percent passes for the 2016 Unit 2 CAPE Examinations were recorded in Applied Mathematics (100 % pass), Environmental Science (100 % pass), French (100 % pass) Geography (100 % pass) and Literatures in English (100 % pass).

In 2016, a total of 391 students from the T.A. Marryshow Community College, including Carriacou, wrote the 2016 CAPE Examinations in nineteen (19) subject areas, compared to a total of 439 students innineteen (19) subject areas in 2015.
