GPA REQUIREMENT FOR GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP TO BE LIFTED

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, JULY 25, 2016 – GIS:  During the 27th annual graduation ceremony of the T. A. Marryshow Community College on Thursday, Education Minister Hon. Anthony Boatswain said that the minimum GPA requirement to obtain a government scholarship will be lifted from 3.0 to 3.5.  Minister Boatswain said this is because of the demand for high quality students from institutions of higher learning.

He says with the GPA score of 3.9 by Valedictorian Arnold John, an Island Scholarship will be in the making.

Giving the charge to graduates Minister Boatswain said, “Never be satisfied to remain in the shadow of anyone or simply walk in their footsteps, instead your own footsteps should be what others should follow, go out there and make your mark.”

Over five hundred students graduated on Thursday.
