YOUTH DEVELOPMENT IMPACTS ST. ANDREW NORTH - EAST

ST. GEORGE’S GRENADA January 26, 2016- GIS: Member of Parliament for St Andrew North - east the Hon. Roland Bhola says that he has been working diligently to enhance the lives of people, especially the poor in the Constituency.

He highlights Youth Development and Higher Learning, among the positive developments occurring in the area.

Minister Bhola told a packed audience on Thursday evening January 21, at the Pearls learning Center that the Constituency has been favorably impacted by the Imani Program.

“The Imani, we have been able to empower, with the three batches that went out, well over two hundred and fifty young persons from this constituency have been engaged, trained and have gone out there and are now trying to do things on their own. As a matter of fact, from the first batch that has been sent out, they have completed their two year training and they are now being put into a different program where they are doing life skills and other forms of training. We have about twenty seven persons within this constituency that have been reengaged in that new batch while others are waiting for placement,” minister Bhola said.

Minister Bhola is also delighted with the support being rendered for secondary and tertiary education.

He says that several people are now studying for degrees at the St George’s University and other learning institutions.

“For the year so far based on the assistance that the government gives, in terms of assisting with tuition fees and transportation, I have on record up to 25 persons for this year alone, that have come forward and sought assistance and the government has willingly given assistance to those persons to ensure that they get a higher level of education,” minister Bhola said.
