Beausejour, Carriacou, March 10, 2015- The Mitchell's Administration, upon assuming office after winning the last general election in 2013 15-0, has embarked on numerous programs to help address the existing unemployment issues faced by young people.

One of such program is the New Imani Program; a program that was designed to provide two (2) years of training, education, certification and job experience to young persons between ages of 18- 38 years in their areas of interest.

Stakeholders on the sister-isle are reporting positive feedbacks on this program and are in full support partnering with the Government of Grenada on one common goal aimed to reduce unemployment and develop the capacity of young people on the sister-isle.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Labor, Legal Affairs, Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Local Government, Hon. Elvin Nimrod, said that he's extremely pleased and impressed with the program meeting its aims and objectives on such high note on the sister-isle.

Minister Nimrod commended trainees, stakeholders, Ministry of Youth, Youth Division in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and other persons who played a significant role in ensuring that the program stays alive and kicking on the island.

Presently, a total of over 135 young persons divided into two batches, Batch 1 and 2 are involved in this program on the sister-isle. However, come September 2015, Batch 1 trainees would exit the program certified due to time elapse to accommodate a new batch of trainees who awaits the opportunity of training in their desired areas.
