Division of Gender and Family in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs and Child Protection Authorities join together in awareness.

The Division of Gender and Family in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, in collaboration with Child Protection Authorities, has taken the  initiative  to be more proactive  in  its campaign in creating awareness on domestic violence, child abuse and all other forms of abuse on the sister-isle.

The Division has already embarked on a Community Sensitization Program which involves a walk through the villages of Carriacou and Petite Martinique educating the public on various genders based topics for the next month.

Gender and Family Coordinator, Vinisha Cudjoe, said that the division is taking full opportunity of the festive season to inform the public on the various types of violence and the laws that accompany them.

Cudjoe also advised parents to carry out effective parenting skills, not only in the midst of this festive season, but at all times.

The next activity on the agenda under the Community Sensitization Program will be an outreach programme in the town of Hillsborough on Monday July, 28th commencing at 9:00 am.
