GEORGE, GRENADA, MAY 4, 2015: The People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the Government of Grenada is offering full scholarships to Grenadian nationals to pursue a Masters of Science Program, in Meteorology, at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China, for the academic year 2015/2017. The deadline for applying is Friday, May 15, 2015.

The New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) Scheme, is also offering scholarships for study in New Zealand commencing February 2016.  The awards are offered for full-time, postgraduate study for Masters and PhD Degrees. The deadline for completing this application is Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

The area of study is related to Sustainable Economic Development, in the following priority sectors:

• Disaster Risk Management
• Renewable Energy

NEW ZEALAND COMMONWEALTH SCHOLARSHIPS - 2015

The New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) Scheme, is offering scholarships for study in New Zealand commencing February, 2016.  The awards are offered for full-time, Postgraduate study for Masters and PhD Degrees.

The area of study would be related to Sustainable Economic Development in the following priority sectors:-

• Agriculture
• Disaster Risk Management
• Renewable Energy

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

1. Be a citizen of Grenada;
2. Be applying to commence a new qualification and not be seeking funding for one already commenced in New Zealand or another country;
3. Satisfy the admission requirements of the New Zealand education institution at which the qualification is to be undertaken;
4. Be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to the public or private or community sector (as relevant), and to their home country’s development in general; and be able to take up the scholarship in the academic year for which it is offered;
5. Be 40 years or under before the scholarship start date;
6. Not have completed, or nearly completed, a qualification at a similar level (i.e. applicants must apply for a higher level qualification than any previously attained), unless strong developmental relevance is demonstrated; and have been working in their home country, preferably for at least two (2) years prior to application, including since completing their highest tertiary qualification gained to date.

CHINA MASTERS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016

The People’s Republic of China in collaboration with the Government of Grenada is offering full scholarships to Grenadian nationals to pursue Master’s of Science Program in Meteorology in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, China, for the academic year 2015/2017.

HOW TO APPLY:  All applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

1. Be a Citizen of Grenada

2.Be staff members from meteorological administrations, higher educational institutes, scientific or academic institutions, or non-government organizations in developing countries.

3. Be the holder of a Bachelor degree in Meteorology or relevant majors.
4. Be under the age of 45
5. Have experience in the relevant field
6. Possess good English proficiency
7. Applicants who are not native English speakers or whose undergraduate education was not in English are required to take an appropriate English Language Proficiency Test and in general achieve a sufficient score, such as:

• New TOEFL 85 or better
• IELTS 6.0 or better

Have other documents which can prove the English proficiency of the applicant

8. Candidates MUST BE healthy and must not have any disease or situation as listed hereunder:

1. Diseases prohibited by Chinese Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Laws and Regulations;
2. Other severe chronic diseases like high blood pressure, cardio-cerebrovascular disease, diabetes; psychological diseases; or other infectious diseases;
3. In recovery period after major surgery or acute disease attacks;
4. With severe physical disability;
5. Pregnancy

9. Applicants are NOT allowed to bring spouse or any relative and friend during the period of study in China;

10. Only applicants recommended by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China will be considered and admitted.

Step 1 – Filling the Application form

1)Fill Application Form of Master of Meteorology Program, 2015 in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology;

2)Then print the completed form our and sign your name and the date on it.

Step 2 – Sending Soft-copies of All Application Materials to Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology.

          1)Applicants are required to send the soft copies of all application materials (listed on Item 3) by email to 001962@nuist.edu.cn.

 Step 3 – Online Application

          1)After being surely accepted, applicants are required to visit online           application system of Chinese Scholarship Council at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn/.

2)Select the program named “Chinese Government Scholarship” and complete online application.

Note: Only if you finish this online application, can you finally receive the formal admission notification from Peking University.
