 Hon. Emmalin Pierre

Hon. Emmalin Pierre is the Member of Parliament for the constituency of St. Andrew South East. She has a deep passion for youth, community and individual empowerment. Her early participation in civic institutions such as the 4H, Girl Guides, Red Cross, the Catholic Youth Movement, School Debating Club, Community Cultural Club, School Students’ Council attest to the strong leadership that she has demonstrated over the years.

 Emmalin’s professional career stretches from media to education but always found the time and energy to continue commitment to the youth constituents in Grenada. She is well remembered as host of a popular radio and TV program known as “Youth Vibes”.

 Her leadership impact has also been felt globally, she has participated in several , regional and international events including: the 2000 Caribbean Youth Parliament and served as Vice President of the Regional Youth Forum of the Commonwealth Youth Program for two terms. In 2003 she represented the Commonwealth Secretariat as part of the observer mission to monitor Nigeria’s General Election. Other global participation included the Youth Enterprise Development Forum in Australia and the Youth in Politics Conference held in England.

 In 2006, Emmalin entered active politics and was appointed a Senator and became Minister of Youth Development where she served in Cabinet with great distinction and honour.

Mrs. Pierre will continue to listen and work on behalf of the people of the constituency, understanding fully the pillars of inclusion and participation guided by the philosophy “country above self”.

 Mrs. Pierre has been married for 17 years and has three sons.
